Each year, residents of Life Care Center of Morehead, Kentucky, take a fishing trip to the Minor E. Clark Fish Hatchery, which boasts more than 100 ponds and a variety of fish.
Two busloads of residents and associates came out to fish from the bank, enjoy a picnic and spend time together.
“Lots of laughs could be heard as residents enjoyed their day and their catches,” said Jaysa Kiser, director of admissions.
This event is popular among residents, and this year’s attendance was the highest ever. In fact, 34 residents, one third of the facility’s population, participated in the fishing trip.
“It’s an event loved by the residents,” said Bill Hurst, executive director. “They enjoyed being able to get out of the facility for a while, and it’s always exciting when someone catches a fish.”
Fourteen residents caught fish, but all 34 were glad to get some fresh air and enjoy the outdoors together.
